Kailey is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation (MA, LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio and is also a board-certified counselor (NCC). Kailey has received designation from ADEC (Association of Death Educators and Counselors) as a certified Thanatologist. Kailey has a background in hospice work and feels that companioning and advocating for grievers is her life’s passion. Kailey believes that grief is not a problem to be solved or a diagnosis to fix. Kailey specializes in the integration of spirituality, illness, and grief as well as spiritual trauma and purity culture recovery. Kailey is an adjunct professor at Ashland University and a doctoral student in counselor education and supervision at Ohio University. Lastly, Kailey co-owns Refuge Counseling, a LGBTQIA allied counseling practice in Ashland, Ohio. In her free time, Kailey is a voracious reader and has a special fondness for YA novels and romance novels.

Dr. Shazia Naurin is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Counseling at John Carroll University and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor & Supervisor in Ohio. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University and specializes in clinical mental health counseling, empathy research, and cultural responsiveness. Dr. Naurin brings over two decades of teaching, clinical, and international experience, with advanced training in EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She is actively involved in professional leadership through the Ohio Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and related organizations.

Dr. Fawn Gordon is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling and Art Therapy Department at Ursuline College. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio, she has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in school-based and outpatient settings. Her clinical approach focuses on integrative strategies which infuse trauma-informed care and wellness-based practice. Additionally, she has served in various roles within the Ohio Counseling Association and maintains active as Past-President of NCOCA.
